Today would have been my sixteenth anniversary in the Universal Life Church (ULC) ministry. I first was ordained April 14, 2005. But in 2014 I dropped out for two years as I continued my spiritual search elsewhere. I came back to the ULC ministry August 3, 2016, and yesterday completed my Doctorate of Universal Order. Why do I bother mentioning this to you? It is because if you are a member of the human race, each and every one of us, regardless of race, color, creed, age, gender, or any other separation category we can contrive, are all part of Universal Life and Universal Order. Without empathy, compassion, care, and concern for others, we will lose civility in our families, neighborhoods, and nations. You and I have the power within us to fix what is broken, or allow it to fall apart.
With empathy, compassion, care, and concern for health and well-being, George Floyd, in my opinion, would not have been murdered and videoed publicly for simply attempting to buy something with a fake $20 bill, like I tried years ago not knowing, like George did not know, that the $20s were fake. The difference between me and George is that I am white and George was black.
You would think a police officer on the police force for 26 years would know the difference between a taser and a gun, yet current news show another black person, this time a youth, stopped for driving with an air freshener hanging from a rear-view mirror, and allegedly shot to death by mistake.
Would you or I walk free if we killed a person by kneeling on his neck for almost nine minutes? Can you or I kill someone by mistake and walk away unscathed? This would not be justice, which falls under the heading of Universal Order.
It will be interesting to see how empathy, compassion, care, concern, and justice play out. We are all part of this Universal Life we share. We are not separate islands, each doing our own thing without any ramification to others. Each one of us has the power within us to build up or to destroy, choosing good or evil. If more of us choose evil, society will continue on its negative spiral. If more of us choose good, society will continue on its positive course. We cannot do evil and get a good result. That simply would go against Universal Order.
These titles, Universal Life and Universal Order, do not belong to the various groups out in the world who use these words to promote other agendas, or seek to make money teaching their courses. There are even some music groups and hate groups who choose to use these words (Universal Life, Universal Order), but they cannot usurp what Universal Life and Universal Order, in the bigger picture, is all about. Rather, if you are living, breathing, thinking person, you are in intricate part of the Universal Life with all the dynamics it entails in this life.
There is a Universal Order that is intrinsic to all life, even for the most unorganized person among us. It is the balance of cause and effect. The same holds true for everything in nature, such as plants, animals, planets, stars, galaxies, and universes, etc. Some of us get caught up in the energy of it all, focusing our attention on crystals, geometry, natural laws, science, medicine, astronomy, interconnectivity, synergy, sustainability, transformation, unity, and the multi-dimensionality of it all. Even time travels with Universal Life and Universal Order as its companions.
We are at a moment in history when everything you think, say and do is of immense importance, energetically, mentally, physically, and spiritually. That’s the mind, body, spirit pyramid of Universal Life. The world needs your peace, patience, goodness, kindness, and magnanimity. It does not require money nor fame to spread peace, patience, goodness, kindness and a magnanimous loving spirit. We are all looking for the other guy to get it right. But we will get there faster if we start with ourselves.
It seems the entire world is on fire with the results of our delusions, ego, and separateness to which we all seem to have retreated to our individual corners. Volcanoes are erupting in our islands. It is time for Universal Order to peacefully organize and clean out the dysfunction when it comes to light. There is a way humanity can work together for the common good of all.
Universal Life pulses in organizations also because they are made up of us humans. Police forces, government officials, and all people dealing with injustices in every nation have the ability to put people over profit, calm over chaos, while simultaneously speaking out and peacefully working for change.
Change is the only constant in this life. Nothing ever stays the same. We have the ability to make things better or worse for everyone beyond ourselves. Universal Life shows us that it is possible to build up what was once misunderstood or maligned.
Energy cannot be killed. Universal Life is energy without beginning or end. It can only be transmuted, transformed within natural Universal Order. It works every time. Let us begin, or continue, to work with Universal Order and Universal Life rather than against these constants. We will last longer.
