Balance is key. Life with all its mysteries is a wonderful cornucopia of wonder, intrigue, fascination, all mixed up with feelings, emotions, desires, hopes, and wishes. I’m taking a moment to catch my breath and thank my mother who has shaped me into the person I am today.
My mother’s love is the strength that has made me into the woman I am today. Without her belief in me, nothing would have been possible. Life, with all its twists and turns, and seemingly impossible reality, can appear as muddled as a pool of mud after a hurricane.
But at every twist and turn, I see my mothers’ encouragement, praise, and listening ear. Her loving guidance never wanes, no matter how mixed-up life can get.
Here we are between winter and spring, cold and hot, St. Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day. It would be a time of the celebration of saints because my mother’s faith in the saints, angels, and God is perhaps the strongest of all, making this the perfect time to say thank you Mom for everything.
Her belief in me is strongest of all. I build my life on the foundation of my mother’s love and constant support. She is my best friend in life and is the reason I am dedicating my third book currently sitting in a publisher’s lap to my mother. I told her this yesterday when I visited her.
If you get the chance in this life to make up with your mother over some disagreement or perceived impossible situation to correct, know that there is nothing like a mother’s love to forgive you, even if you have made mistakes in your life, done unspeakable things, or have misjudged her harshly.
No two people have the same opinions on everything. You don’t have to agree with everything politically, religiously, or socially. Every person is born with free will and the ability to make their own way in life. But you do not have to navigate this life without your mother.
Some people get stuck in time this way, only remembering what they perceived to be bad, or negative energy in their growing up years while forgetting their instrumental part, without also looking at the good times. That’s one of the things that makes life so interesting. She is waiting to love you still, no matter who else is telling you the opposite. Don’t let pride get in the way.
